Father Emmanuel Sakellarides, son of the late John and Evangelia (Spanos) was born on April 23, 1931 in the village of Menetes at the Island of Karpathos ­Dodekanese, Greece. Father was brought up in Karpathos where he attended and finished Grammar and High School.

1951-1955 Father was accepted to the Ecclesiastical School of Patmos, Greece where he studied and completed four years.

1955-1957 Father decided to continue his studies, and was accepted and attended 2 years the University of Theological School of Athens.

1958 October 5^th Father married Kalliope (Katogiritis) daughter of the late Elias and Sophia.

1958-1960 Presvytera Kalliope returned to America to petition Father to come to America. In the meantime while Father was waiting for his paperwork to get accepted, Father was appointed Chantor at Saint Anargyroi in Kallipolis - Piraeus, Greece.

1960-1962 Father worked as a Chantor and Greek School teacher at the Three Hierarchs Church Brooklyn, NY. Also, worked part time at Greek! American Restaurants.

1962 September 9, Father was ordained a Deacon by the late Metropolitan Germanos Polisoides at the Holy Trinity Church Freeport, Long Island, NY. September 14, 1962 Father was ordained a Priest at the Trasfiguration of Christ Church, by the late Metropolitan Germanos Polizoides, in Corona, NY.

Father Emanuel now resides with his 2 sons John and Nicholas and one daughter Nina Sophia married to Elias Karamboulas, with 2 girls Kalliope Efthalia born 1999, and Evangelia Victoria born May 2000 whom also reside with Father Emmanuel.

Since Father Emmanuel's retirement to date he has been helping the lovely Parish of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Worcester, MA with chanting and part taking in many various religious services.
